Bemo or Dokar
Here some solutions you might wanna know about the transportation in Sumbawa Besar (Big Sumbawa) or maybe it’s a common option to drive along the city and go for “jalan-jalan”, term use to expressed (take a stroll in Indonesia), as you can see on your left that is a Bemo, public transportation option use for specific destination depend on its color, divide into the blue or the yellow. By specific direction I mean, the tracks are define into two main street, the blue tracks is across from Brang Biji while the yellow one across Garuda Street.
Well basically they are heading to the same major direction for the most, that’s Pasar Seketeng (Seketeng Market) where economy happening. Before taking one of these option, please make sure that you know your direction, where to stop the Bemo, and how much the cost really was.
Well to be honest the cost won’t killing you, start from three to five thousand rupiah, small money but quite compute with the serves. You have to be patient where that’s the real amusement you can find, enjoy the wind from side glass windows and jostling with another passenger. Weird smells sometimes accompany your ride. And what else I can offer for the transportation is Dokar (Horse Wagon). In Lombok, people use to call it “Cidomo”. but in Dompu and Bima, people call it “Benhur”.
It’s common to specific place only so it’s not allowed to drive across the city cause of healthy problem produce by the horse (horse’s poop). You may enjoy seeing Pasar Seketeng and continuing to Sultan palace from this horse wagon (Dokar).
